Hey, not everyone is a big name in the book industry and most of us don't sell millions of books. Each year, 500,000 to 1 million new books come out. Including self-published authors, the count reaches close to 4 million new book titles each year. It is certainly not easy to have your work noticed.
When I decided (back in September of last year) to enter my book 'No other gods' in the Christian Indie Book Awards 2025, I was hopeful and doubtful at the same time.
Awards and honorable mentions
Hopeful, because I have received awards and honorable mentions for my books in the past. To be precise:
- 'Grace of Giving' won gold in the 2011 Reader's Favorite Awards, category Christian Non-Fiction
- 'In My Name' was a finalist in the 2020 International Book Awards, category Christian Inspirational, and also a finalist in the 2020 Top Shelf Book Awards, category Non-Fiction - Religion/Philosophy
- 'True Worshippers' won bronze in the 2021 Illumination Book Awards, category Christian Living

Each chapter starts with a travel story, travels we made all over the world throughout the years. Travels that introduced us to other religions than the one we grew up with, to other cultures, and to other gods... The subtitle says: Why undivided loyalty to the One and only living God matters these days.
'No other gods' is available as e-book ($2.99) and paperback ($9.90) at your online bookseller.

Like trees, my people will live long lives. They will fully enjoy the things that they have worked for.
