The great mystery of our faith

Secrets, mysteries, riddles, and puzzles, we love them, don't we?

Somehow, we are attracted to things we cannot fully see or understand. We are driven by a desire to investigate. There is a little Sherlock Holmes in all of us 😊

Secrets are there to be revealed, mysteries to be solved, riddles to be unlocked, and puzzles to be completed. 

Sometimes we find the answer or solution quickly, while at other times it may seem to take forever.

The secret of our religion

The Bible also speaks about mysteries and secrets. Quite a lot, actually. Personally, I love what is written about Jesus in 1 Timothy 3:16, No one can deny how great is the secret of our religion: He appeared in human form, was shown to be right by the Spirit, and was seen by angels. He was preached among the nations, was believed in throughout the world, and was taken up to heaven.

Jesus, the secret of our religion, the mystery of our faith and godliness. Jesus, God in human form. Immanuel, God with us. Jesus, whose birth divided time in BC and AD, is still being preached among the nations. Now more than ever before, thanks to the internet and digital technology.

Throughout the world, people are discovering who Jesus is. He is more than a good man, an excellent teacher, prophet, or healer. He is the Son of the living God, the Creator of the Universe, the promised Messiah!

The secret revealed

The Apostle Paul, a God-fearing Jewish leader and teacher, wrote: God has given me the responsibility of serving his church by proclaiming his entire message to you. This message was kept secret for centuries and generations past, but now it has been revealed to God’s people (Colossians 1:25-26).

The secret has been revealed, the mystery has been solved, the puzzle is complete! Jesus, the Jewish Messiah, wants to live in you. Whether you are a Jew, Arab, or Gentile. Verse 27: For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.

Let us give glory to God! He is able to make you stand firm in your faith, according to the Good News I preach about Jesus Christ and according to the revelation of the secret truth which was hidden for long ages in the past. Now, however, that truth has been brought out into the open through the writings of the prophets; and by the command of the eternal God it is made known to all nations, so that all may believe and obey.
