I love words of wisdom, advice, a challenge, or a warning from someone who has more experience in a certain area of life than I do. It can be about writing, finances, cooking and baking, or ministry. Anything really.
I often find myself saying: "How come I did not know this?" or 'If only I had known this..." Anyway, I am sure you've been there.
Next generation
The Bible reveals how speaking into someone's life ought to be done. Well, of course, we can read how God Himself spoke directly to people with specific instructions, and He still does so today through His Word and the Holy Spirit. But, it was also customary for parents to speak into the lives of the next generation.
King David, for example, spoke to his son and successor, as we can read in 1 Chronicles 28:9, And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind.
Distraction overshadows devotion

I want you to do whatever will help you serve the Lord best, with as few distractions as possible

It's all too easy for us to become distracted and forget that God should always be our focus, Marja. If Solomon could do this, how can expect ourselves not to fall into that trap? Wonderful thoughts today!
