‘Where is the common sense in all of this?’ Have you ever uttered that question?
I am almost sure you have. We live in a world where, in my humble opinion, common sense has become a lost treasure.
Decision makers at all levels often lack the childlike ability to think uncomplicatedly. I have seen this firsthand.
I have worked as a freelancer in both the public and private sectors for many years, and I have noticed that when people lose a certain level of simplicity, they become entangled in the process of (over)thinking.
Protect common sense
King Solomon, who was the wisest man that ever lived, said: My child, don’t lose sight of common sense and discernment. Hang on to them (Proverbs 3:21). I take that to heart. I have to protect the common sense the Lord has given me. Why? Because it is possible to stand out in a crowd that is drowning in its confused discussions when we open our mouths and utter common sense.
Godly words
I believe God will give us words of knowledge, wisdom, and prophecy at the right time. The words that God gives us have power. The power to heal, encourage, and direct. Again, it was King Solomon who said: The words of the godly encourage many, but fools are destroyed by their lack of common sense (Proverbs 18:1).
What's the buzz?
Every time I struggle to understand what’s going on in the world and what all the buzz is about, I proclaim the following words as written in Proverbs 8:14 over my life, and I believe doing so will help you as well! Common sense and success belong to me. Insight and strength are mine.

He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.
